Special Thanks

Occasionally we have people and/or organizations who go above and beyond to help our ministry. We created this space so we could share their stories of support, sharing, and caring with you.

If you have a story of someone connected with Mending the Soul who went above and beyond for you in some way, please share it with us and we will consider it for this page.

Debbie Burson

Early in 2012 Debbie began to regularly volunteer doing administration work with Mending the Soul. Since then, she has been an integral part of the operations by keeping many areas of the ministry running smoothly and keeping the office organized. For the past year, Debbie has been coordinating the registration of all MTS events and has single-handedly transferred our database onto a very complex online system. This new database has provided the ability for our website to be more integrated saving hours of data entry work. We want to thank Debbie for her years of service and look forward to continuing to work with her for years to come!

Nora Poling

We celebrate Nora and her commitment to MTS in many ways. Over the numerous years that she has been a part of the MTS family she has rarely missed an opportunity to learn and share. She is one of our most seasoned facilitators, has shared her story numerous times at trainings and conferences, and has used her story of healing to teach in the U.S., Honduras, Mexico, East Africa, and India about hope and healing through Christ. Nora’s dedication to her own healing and her voice as an ambassador for Mending the Soul are definitely reason to celebrate!

Shadi May

During the fall 2011 and spring 2012, Mending the Soul piloted their mentor training program for those working with sexually exploited girls. Shadi May, under the direct supervision of Celestia Tracy, volunteered to develop and train this program. Shadi was an incredible teacher who gave so much of herself. We are so very grateful for her long term commitment to not only the program but to each of the mentors who attended.

Beth Rehm and Mary Kinkel

For several years Beth and Mary have held a yard sale to benefit Mending the Soul. They have done this with the generous support of Whitton Avenue Bible Church, who allows them to gather and store all the donations as they are brought the month prior to the sale. We are so grateful for the numerous hours and many volunteers who make this fundraiser event a success each time. To date they have raised around $10,000!
