Congratulations!

You. Are. Finished. That’s one gritty, monumental accomplishment!

Your facilitator has access to a downloadable Certificate of Completion that they will present to you. Make sure to request one if they don’t have it for you at your last group meeting!

God has been with you these past months as you allowed the trauma your body had stored and carried for years to surface. He was there when you exploded with anger and threw your workbook at a concrete wall. He was there when you cried for the first time over your suffering as a child, when you spoke up and advocated for yourself. He was there when you set a boundary to protect your heart and doubted yourself. He was there when you confronted the ghosts of your past, when you confessed your sins of abuse. He was there, in every detail of your journey. His hands were in the hands that offered you comfort, a hug, a touch on the arm, a hand held. His eyes were the ones that filled with tears when you shared your story for the first time. His anger was the anger that surfaced over neglect of one so young. His comfort was the comfort that spilled over in your group as members needed it at different times, in different ways. His presence was the presence you felt when you spoke and others listened with attention.

“Praise be to God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows…it is all for your comfort” (2 Corinthians 1:3-7).

God doesn’t waste pain. He showed up in ways that surprised you, and has taken you on an unexpected journey of healing. Now begins the next, unexpected season of redemptive purpose. What might your next steps look like? It might mean a deeper dive into your story, and possibly participating in another MTS small group, or seeing a counselor to make sure every bit of your past has been processed and fully integrated. Maybe it’s facilitating a group of your own, or mentoring a trafficked survivor ready to exit “the life.” Maybe it’s financially supporting MTS monthly so others can know the comfort you’ve just received.

How will you pay this gift forward, offering comfort to another and another and another? You’re not just healing for yourself but for all the lives your life will touch. The seeds of Mending the Soul have blown across the U.S. and around the world. God has a specific plan for what He wants to do with your story, and He’s invested fully in its fruition. So listen to His voice and take a step. The world is full of people in pain and we get to be the ones to bring Christ’s comfort to them.
